Settle
Settle is a small market town lying on the River Ribble, the main centre for Upper Ribblesdale and the "Yorkshire Three Peaks" area. The weekly market is held on Tuesdays.

Until December 2015, the Methodist Church (www.settle-methodists.org.uk) was situated on the main road through the town, with the famous Settle-Carlisle railway passing over a bridge very close by. There was a separate church hall on the other side of the road, 75 yards nearer the river. A new Worship Area has now been opened on the same site as the hall, and the hall premises have been updated. They are widely used by many and varied groups from the local community

In 2019 the church achieved its bronze "Eco-Church" award and is committed to further ways of living lightly and carefully in its surroundings.
The church has 70 members and is part of Churches Together in Settle and District, regularly taking part in various activities arranged by CTISAD (www.ctisad.org.uk).

In addition to our regular Sunday morning services, we hold occasional evening services in a variety of different styles.
A '5th Sunday lunch', whenever there are 5 Sundays in the month, provides opportunities for informal fellowship.
A Wednesday morning 'Coffee Pot', serving tea/coffee and home-made cakes and scones, attracts both members and visitors to the town.
A variety of other events to which members of the local community can be invited are also arranged.
